I work closely with you to ensure I'm giving you exactly what you expect. You choose the fabric and finish; you control the overall design and details. I use only the finest materials and treat every piece of furniture that comes through our shop as if it were my own.
I take your piece all the way down to the bare frame and build it up again with the highest quality materials and labor. My meticulous process ensures that your piece will endure in form and function for decades to come.
Hi, I'm Harmony Maraldo, the owner of Tack & Tuft. My passion for upholstery began while attending workshops at the Furniture Institute of Massachusetts, where I practiced under the master Joseph Karagezian. Enamored by the exquisite profiles of 18th and 19th century American furniture, and paired with a deep appreciation for the preservation trades, I chose to specialize in traditional upholstery methods. I pride myself on craftsmanship and quality, minding every detail in my upholstered pieces.
Tack & Tuft is a one-woman shop, though I occasionally employ the assistance of my husband, Nick, a period furniture maker and owner of Wicked Creek Woodworks. I am a proud member of the National Upholstery Association, currently serving on its Board of Directors as President. I am also a member of the Professional Upholsterer’s Network and the Society of American Period Furniture Makers.
I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Prior to starting an upholstery business, I held several positions in operations, management, finance, sales, and marketing, mostly in analytical roles. My corporate expertise is in pricing strategy and process improvement.
Tack & Tuft is located in Pelham, NH. I service the New Hampshire and Boston Metro Areas, and occasionally other parts of New England. My shop is open by appointment only.
